My birthday was last Friday on the 16th of December and I was able to go to Jo Ann's (my favorite store) on Monday and catch one of their awesome sales. I want to share this short haul with you, and although this is a short haul, I saved a lot of money...to be exact I saved over slightly half of what I would have spent! Let's get started...
The main reason I wanted to go to JoAnn's is usually the obvious, but this time I was actually looking for an affordable option to store my sewing machine whenever I travel. Originally, I was just looking for a basic case until I remembered seeing these sewing machine rolling cases and figured I had to get one for myself. I shopped online first to see what I would be spending and determine the prices at JoAnn's were the cheapest, considering they were having a sale. This item is called 'Everything Mary' and its original price is $89.99. It's on sale at JoAnn's online and in-store for 1/2 off for a cool $44.99! You know I was super excited! I didn't have to take measurements to see if it would fit my machine because my sewing machine is pretty light weight and about the average size of a basic sewing machine. From what I read on the reviews, which it has 4 out of 5 stars, you can use it for a Serger also.

After I put my machine in the tote, I love that it has a lot of room for my power foot, and maybe even some projects. I will be using this rolling cart to take to sewing classes, my clients homes, or anywhere, whenever I need to be portable.
I took a picture looking down into the tote so you can see how much room is around the machine. It also has two zipper pockets on the inside and a large pocket in the front.
I think I am really going to like this rolling cart however, I have one complaint...as you can see in the photos, there are handles on each side of the case, and the case is pretty wide, which makes it difficult when lifting it in and out of the car. I think the makers of this case should put another handle on top of the case as opposed to just the sides. Nevertheless, to make it easier for myself, I will be searching for some fabric from JoAnn's that will either match or coordinate with the material and put my own handle on top of the cart. I will be sure to share with you guys when I do.
The next items were not in the plans to purchase, but you know how it is when you go to the store, you never come out with that one item you went in for. I was in the Red Tag section at JoAnn's and all of their Red Tag fabrics were 50% off...although, that section goes on sale often, I sometimes find the selection boring, but a few fabrics caught my eye and I had to have them. Each of the laces are 58" wide and they were $4.99 per yard, which is the sale price from $9.99. I bought 2 yards of each.

I bought this large pack of Embroidery Floss to use with a lot of different projects that I have planned; of course I will share those projects with you also. The original price of this pack was $16.99, I used a 50% off coupon.
Earlier in the day, while looking at JoAnn's website, I came across this purple satin fabric which, again my picture does not show the true beautiful purple color. Anyway, it was online on sale for $2.79 per yard, I ordered 5 yards (for an upcoming project) and set it up for in-store pick-up. This was my first time using this convenience of 'in-store' pick-up at JoAnn's and I must say, I was completely satisfied with their service, too bad it's only available at a few stores. My item was ready for pick-up at the same location I was going to get the rolling sewing machine cart. I could have made all my purchases online and pick them all up at the same time...but, that was too much like RIGHT...you know I had to walk around in the store! :)
With this last purchase, that was not planned, I came across this beading hook that seem that it would make my 'hand-beading life' much easier. If you guys did not know, I love to do hand-beading projects, I wrote a post about some of the things that I have worked on, you can read about that here. A while ago, I was on YouTube and I came across a video talking about this very hook and when I saw that video, I knew I needed this very hook in my life...but after a while, I just forgot to look for it, that is, until I started on another beading project. Anyway, this hook, jumped out at me from the shelf and I tossed it in my basket and made a mad dash to the register before I would have made myself poor buying stuff from JoAnn's sales. This tool's original price is $17.99, I had a 50% off coupon which of course, made it $9.00. Have I ever told you how much I love JoAnn's Sales and Coupons!! If not, feel free to read some of my other posts on my blog!
The last item I purchased is not pictured, but it was a 9" Embroidery Hoop to help me when I am doing certain beading projects. That embroidery hoop was regular price $2.49, I used a 50% off coupon on that item too. With my entire purchase at JoAnn's, I saved a whopping amount of $88.75 and spent $83.39...if that ain't saving money, I don't know what is!! I hope you enjoyed reading, leave me a comment and share any deals you have come across with me!
Happy Sewing and Happy Holidays!!
