Private Sewing Lessons

We are now offering:

• In-Person-Private Sewing Lessons (Are you located in Detroit, MI? I will come to you!)
• Virtual-Private Sewing Lessons (We meet online! What better way to use social distancing!??!😀)

    

All private lessons consists of 6 lessons at 2 hours per session, you choose the day and the time that works best for you. You also have the option to use one of my sewing machines or you can be taught on your own. There is a non-refundable $20.00 sewing machine rental fee to use Sewing Treasures sewing machines during your sessions

Adult Beginner Sewing 

Learn basic sewing skills which include sewing room safety, sewing terms, parts of the sewing machine, sewing tools, pattern layout and cutting, pressing and hand-sewing techniques. Sewing machines are provided; if you have your own, we encourage you to bring it with you. Choose any one of the following sessions. (Each session is once per week for 6 weeks)

Teen Sewing Basics

Learn basic sewing skills which include sewing room safety, sewing terms, parts of the sewing machine, sewing tools, pattern layout and cutting, pressing and hand-sewing techniques. Sewing machines are provide; if you have your own, we encourage you to bring it with you. Choose any one to the following classes. Summer Sewing Camps

Offered once per year during the summer months of late June through August, the summer camps are designed for children between the ages of 11-17. The camps prices are higher than regular sewing classes considering students will spend 6 hours per day for five consecutive days usually Monday through Friday. During the summer camps, students will learn how to operate a basic sewing machine, sewing terms, sewing tools, and how to layout, sew and construct commercial patterns. After completing this class, students will have all the sewing skills they need to create beautiful sewing projects.

Saturday Workshops

NEW WORKSHOPS SCHEDULES WILL BE RELEASED SOON

Sewing for Special Occasions             

In this workshop, you will learn techniques for working with specialty fabrics like laces, netting, satin, chiffon, and silks. You will also learn hand sewing techniques for beautiful bead work. Learn special seams & hemming techniques used for prom dresses, wedding dresses, and evening gowns. This workshop is designed for the intermediate to advanced sewer.

Recycle/Repair Your Wardrobe-
in this workshop students will be shown various creative ideas to update up their wardrobe. Students are encouraged to bring their clothing items with them and we will work on them during the workshop.

Time Saving-Sewing Tips Workshop

In this workshop, you will learn how to reduce your sewing time in half. When faced with multiple projects, there are numerous techniques to consider before getting started. This workshop is designed for the beginner to advanced sewists.

Children Sewing Treasures Workshop                 

In this four-hour workshop, children ages 8-11, will have fun creating beautiful, easy, hand and/or machine sewn treasures for themselves, family, and friends. This workshop is scheduled to allow parents weekend time to run errands within four hours. All materials and supplies will be provided & light healthy refreshments will be provided.

Make Your Own Halloween Costume          

In this workshop you will be provided with a vast array of easy Halloween costumes to choose from or feel free to bring your own. We will create some beautiful costumes for the season! To register for this workshop, you must be familiar with operating a sewing machine and have basic sewing knowledge.
