2014 Christmas Gifts

Hi Creative People,

I know it's been a long time since my last post! Although, I have a long list of excuses, I will spare you the boredom of my life issues! Let's just start with I am back and I hope to be a bit more consistent with posting. Since I have been MFB (missing from blogging) I have still been plugging away sewing. I figured I will catch you guys up with some of the things I have been into...

Well, over the 2014 holiday season, I created some Christmas presents for my favorite family, my niece, her husband and their children! I really enjoyed making these items for them and needless to say, they loved it! They gave me their permission to share the photos on my blog! I have an awesome family!!

I purchased all of the materials from JoAnn's when they were having a big sale on their flannels during the holiday season. The challenges I came across while making these pieces is that I had a hard time finding suitable fabric for an adult male without making him feel juvenile. When I finally found some fabric for my nephew-in-law, the father of the family, I only had enough to make him some lounge pants, I really wanted to make him a robe like the rest of the family, but he was happy! Either way, I didn't even mind going to several JoAnn's in my area to find suitable fabric...any excuse to go to JoAnn's is a good excuse!! Can you tell I have an obsession with JoAnn's. :)

These are the pants and robes completed in my sewing room.

The pictures following, are them on Christmas Day modeling for my blog post!

This is the bottom half of the father of the bunch. my handsome nephew-in-law...as you can see, he is a bit too tall to get in the full frame of the picture! hahahaha!

This is the mother of the bunch, my beautiful niece...I made her robe a little too big, but since it's a robe, I am sure she should be comfortable. She loves it!

This is their oldest son, my handsome great nephew, with his new robe that I made for him, he loves it! He is too cute!!

These beautiful young ladies are the youngest of the family, and yes, they are twins! I made these robes in their favorite colors, the oldest twin loves purple and the youngest loves pink and the words on the robes say 'I love mommy and daddy'. Although I chose the same colored pattern for their robes, I included their favorite colored belts to distinguish the robes. They loved it too!!

Again, I really enjoyed making these Christmas presents for my favorite family and they were very impressed! It's nothing better than a handmade gift, made with love! Win,Win for all!

Thanks for reading!
Happy Sewing!
