Attention Diversion III

Greetings Creative People,

I created a project that I have been promising my daughter that I would complete for her from at least two years ago...I don't know...maybe three years ago...I don't remember :/

You know how it goes...this is one of my many UFOs. My daughter cut this pattern out when I was teaching her to sew over two years ago, she lost interest in learning and she begged me to put it together for her. So, after getting tired of seeing this project looking at me for two years and being moved in many different areas in my sewing room (with all my other UFOs), I decided to put it together the other day and gave it to her.

"It's So Easy It's Simplicity Pattern 2402

In retrospect, I liked the pattern, I just did not really like the material she picked. It is skulls with hearts bones and lavender hearts connecting them together...then again, I never liked anything with skulls and crossbones, it really creeps me out, maybe it's a childhood thing, I don't know. Who am I to stand in the way of her creative energy although I did warn her that she may grow out of liking that pattern when she gets older..."do you really want this to be your first completed sewing project"...obviously...she said 'Yes' with so much enthusiasm...who am I to tell her, I don't like the skulls and hearts and crush her desires and her creative energy??

Here is a close-up of the completed project.

I like the cute pouch that came with the bag.

I purchased the clamp and the ring together and added the snap per the instructions.

Here is a close-up of the change pouch...it's really cute but not cute enough to put loose change in because the money will slip out the sides. :)

Here is a different view of the finished project.

Although I stated I did not like the fabric design, after I completed the bag...it looked really cute. I then thought to myself that my daughter would think its cute, but I am almost positive she would not carry it considering she is now 18 years old...heck, she was at least 15 when she picked out this material. When I gave it to her, she was excited to get it, she carried it to work the very next day...and I have not seen that bag since...I wonder what happened??? :/ She says she still has it and love it...but I have not seen her with it...I wonder if she is avoiding saying 'I was right'...
Anyway, that is one less UFO I no longer have to move around my sewing room...now on to the next UFO!

Happy Sewing!
