Sewing Challenge Progress

Greetings Good People,

I am so excited to report, I have started on the fourth project of my pattern sewing challenge! I have just completed Simplicity Pattern #2367, light pink shorts for my daughter.

Here is a picture of a stage in the process of making the shorts where I stopped for about a week because I did not have a pink 7 inch zipper to complete the top part of the shorts; I am not sure if you can see in the upper right hand corner where the shorts are not finished. I had not made the bottom part of the shorts yet either, but this is just a in progress shot...

This is also where I stopped to make my "attention diversion" projects!!

Days later, I made a special trip to JoAnn's, being very careful not to look for anything else I did not need and purchased the zipper to complete the shorts...okay...SEWING CONFESSIONAL!!!! I did end up purchasing six zippers...some fiberfill...and a craft magazine!! I bought more zippers because I have plans to create some cute quilted make-up bags as gifts for my friends and the other items...well? I don't know or remember why I bought them! Yes, I know, I did not go there for that...but, I would have felt silly leaving JoAnn's with only spending $2.00 plus tax on a zipper! Besides, I had a 40% off coupon, I had to make the trip worth my wild...right?! :-)

Anyway, I finished her shorts...here is a picture of the completed shorts, displayed across my bed:

At this point, since I have already pre-washed the fabric, I like to press the shorts to finish off the look. I am now done with them, and when I gave them to my daughter, she was excited! So excited, that she decided to model them for my blog! By the way, she wants me to mention, she will be wearing these with a white blouse and white wedge heels in the warm spring/summer (not the black shirt she is wearing!):

Now, this is the third project of the five I have chosen. My next project is my son's shorts...here is a preview of the pattern, as usual I will keep you posted on the progress of that one also...

Until next time, happy sewing!!

Hello,
In your January post you talked about sewing classes. I wanted to know do you teach tailoring and alterations or would you be willing to give private lessons?
